Large pendulum in gilded bronze, set with an outstanding polychrome porcelain plate in its centre
painted in Sèvres and representing the mystical marriage of Saint Catherine inspired by Le Corrège and reused for this plate by Sophie Liénard painter at the Manufacture.
The pilasters are decorated with leafy capitals and supporting on both sides a scroll pediment containing a clockface with a cartouche of enamelled Roman numerals and resting on a rinceau base of winged lion posts.
Annotation in ink on the back of the porcelain plate:
Guyerdet collection.
The mystical marriage of Saint Catherine from the Corrège by Mme Liénard, painter from Sèvres in 1845.
The original painting is conserved at the Louvre Museum in Paris.
French work from the period of Louis-Philippe.
