Transitional style display cabinet by LINKE FRANÇOIS

Display cabinet in Louis XV-XVI transition style, in purple wood veneer marquetry, richly decorated in finely engraved and gilded bronze with rosette motifs, pearl patterns and leafy stems. Original bevelled windows. Glass door, which opens on the façade, is adorned with a medallion portrait oval plaque in relief. The supports with cut sides are adorned with caryatids and glazed sides.
Rectangular top in Aleppo Breccia marble, fitted above a floral garland and frieze centred by two satyrs carrying the drunken Silenus. Interior of cabinet includes a mirrored back and two glass shelves. The cabinet rests on rounded feet with gilded bronze hooves.
Lock plate stamped ‘CT. LINKE / LOCKS / PARIS ’57
French work from the end of the 19th century around 1890-1900.
