DENIERE Guillaume

1815-1903

The Denière manufactory, specialized in art bronzes, situated 15, rue Vivienne since the 1820’ years, principally produced objects of decoration, candelabra, chandeliers, etc… The workshops were situated rue d’Orléans. Denière father was part of the Founders’ union of Paris in 1818. He participated at the Exposition of the industry’s products, especially at the 1839’s one, where he created objects in collaboration with his son.

He realized a center-piece for the duke of Orleans ornate with sculptures of Cavelier and Klagmann, sold in 1852, with the entire collection of the duke. The Denière house became famous. They had a great success at the Exposition Universelle of 1855.

The same thing happened in 1874, at the Exposition of the Central Union of the Beaux-arts applied to the industry. The house presented a lot of pieces for the occasion: candlesticks flanked with figures of Clodion, enameled vases, marble busts of Carrier-Belleuse, etc… The house also edited some statuettes of the artist and executed the fount of the Apollo group, in gilded-bronze, by Aimé Millet. Princes and kings are regular clients of the Denière house.

The manufactory still in activity until the end of the 19th century, Guillaume Denière having succeeded to his father in 1855.
