PLE Henri
1853-1922
Henri PLE was a student of Mathurin Moreau who later became a member of the Society of French Artists. He was interested in portraying powerful and haughty male figures, mostly heroes from history or mythology, and was endowed with a real talent.
He began his work at the Paris Salon from 1877 with bronze sculptures, receiving a bronze medal at the 1900 Paris Exposition and continued his masterpieces until 1914. The manufacture Barbedienne produced a large amount of his works.
