Bust of Napoleon I in Coronation Robes
Large and exceptional bronze bust with black patina representing Napoleon I in Roman style Coronation Robes. Dressed in a coat lined with ermine fur and a ruff with “le collier de Grand Maître de la Légion d’honneur”, a national decoration created for Napoleon in 1802. He wears a laurel wreath, the attribute of victorious generals and also of emperors in ancient Rome.
Piedouche with mouldings, resting on a square base with plinths.
French work from the 20th century.
Round stamp with an Imperial Eagle motif and an Empire Collection reference.
