Importante formal Italian table
Exceptional large round centre table, supporting a large top in marquetry of a variety of hard stones and displaying in its centre a radiant sun. The tabletop rests on a spectacular middle decoration in gilded and carved wood with cut-outs and patterns of shells, ribbing and flowers, supported by three open-mouthed inverted rascaces in the style of a cornucopia. They rest on a strut, joined together in the middle of three small rascaces imitating the base. The piece rests on small gilded bronze hooves.
Work from northern Italy at the end of the XVIII and beginning of the XIX century. Around 1790-1800.
