Louis XVI fireplace decoration attributed to Auguste Moreau
Moreau Auguste
Fireplace set including a clock and two candelabra in engraved and gilded bronze with matt and burnished gold. A winged cherub rests against the clock reading a book. On either side are two candelabra with cherubs each holding three leafy light branches, ending with bobeches and drip pans.
Each piece rests on a red griotte marble base, decorated with a frieze of intertwined laurel garland motifs. Square base in gilt bronze with pearls.
Clock with white enamel dial signed by maison BOUDET in Paris.
