Pair of Louis XVI style vases

Pair of exquisite vases with removable lids in bronze with green patina and finely engraved bronze and gilded with matte gold and burnished gold. Richly decorated with bronzes presenting two carefully crafted handles on either side connecting the neck of the vase to its sculpted base with motifs of acanthus leaves and interlacing.
The vases are arched on both sides with foliage masks. Domed lid topped with a gilt bronze pinecone.

French work from the middle of the 19th century in the Louis XVI style, circa 1850.
Provenance: former collection of Anne-Aymone and Valéry Giscard d’Estaing.
