Pair of satyr and triton vases – Maison Jollet

Maison Colin et JOLLET & Cie

air of vases with piedouches in bronze with a dark green patina and engraved and gilded bronze with matt and burnished gold. Representing respectively a satyr and a triton, seated on the body of the vase, embracing a large, flared neck. They are inserted into an openwork handle.
The satyr grabs a ram’s head by the horns, from which emerge a garland of hanging vine leaves and grapes. The triton seizes the reins of a dolphin, from which hangs a garland of seaweed.
The piedouche, in gilded bronze with pearl patterns, rests on a square base with a patinated bronze plinth, adorned with gilded pearls.

French work in Louis XVI style from the end of the 19th century, around 1890.
