Rare pedestal table with naiads in the Louis XVI style

Small square-shaped pedestal table in engraved and gilded bronze with matte and shiny finish and bronze with brown patina. It rests on four straight legs joined by an X-shaped strut, topped with winged naiads supporting the middle. The centre frieze represents seated bacchantes and servants carrying vine branches.

Pink granite marble top.
This rare pedestal table, of which we have not found an equivalent to date, presents the uprights and bases observed on the pedestal table created by Philippe Thomire for the Palace of Fontainebleau, produced in 1810 by Rocheux.

French work in Louis XVI style from the beginning of the 19th century, circa 1820-1830.
