Red marble bowl

Empire style bowl with moulded piedouche, in red marble, resting on a square base in black marble.
The piedouche supports a pearl ring in gilded bronze with matt and burnished gold. On either side are two delicate acanthus leaves with two emerging dragon bodies, coiled and forming handles. Each dragon’s head rests on the rim of the bowl.

Russian work from the beginning of the 19th century, around 1810-1820.
