Large pair of bronzes in opposition with brown patina, representing the return from grape-picking and the return from the harvest.
The Return from grape-picking features a mother and her son holding baskets of bunches of grapes, and the Return from the Harvest – a mother carrying a sheaf of wheat on her head and a rake on the little girl’s shoulder.
Signature on the round terrace: Math. Moreau.
Cast iron from the E. (Emile) Colin & Cie factory, Paris.
French work from the end of the 19th century, around 1890.
This group was exhibited at the Paris Salon in the 1890s by Mathurin Moreau who received the Medal of Honor.
