Magnificent group in bronze with brown patina, depicting the winged and victorious Pheme.
Leaning on the shoulder of young David, she is depicted, standing in armour, winged and holding outstretched in her arm a sword, a symbol of her almighty power. David, dressed in a loincloth, stands in front of her and carries a shield on his arm.
This group is entitled, La Vigilance par l’Artiste, representative of French patriotic scenes from the 1870s, in relation to the conflict between Prussia and France.
Signed on the base: Mathurin Moreau and awarded médaille d’honneur.
Founder: Stamp of Maison Colin.
French work from the second half of the XIX century, around 1880.
